Glamorgan Home Guard

LIVING HISTORY GROUP

 Who are we. . . . . . . . and what do we do . . . . . .!

The Glamorgan Home Guard, are a Living History Group who portray gentlemen who because of their Health, Age, or Reserved Occupation, were not allowed to join the services and fight for their country. Instead they volunteered to join the Local Defence Volunteers, who later became the HOME GUARD.

We do this by attending 1940 events throughout the country and also visiting Museums and Schools.

Our intention is not to glorify war in any way. Our aim is to help others to understand what the people of this country went through during a terrible time in world history.
